Christmas has passed once again. I truly hope that you has a wonderful time with friends and family this year! While Christmas hold so many valuable lessons and memories, I also find that in our culture it is so very easy to fall into a few traps within the holiday season: business, discontentment, consumerism, and more.
I believe this it is a good time to look back at what this Christmas season was like for each of us on an individual basis. Was it chaotic? Did we spend more than our means could handle? How content did I really feel with what I have? And so on.
As Charlie Brown famously asks out of desperation…”Isn’t anyone able to tell me what Christmas is all about?” The Bible has a very clear answer to that question. I’ve listed 10 verses that discuss points from the Christmas story as well as good reminders about contentment, joy, and peace. These are only a handful of times Christmas is mentioned in Scripture, so I encourage you to take some time to search His Word for more around this subject. Luke 2 is a fantastic place to read the Christmas story for the first time (or the 1,000th)!

Scripture discusses Christmas, contentment, joy, and peace so many more times than I’ve listed here, so I encourage you to read the Bible and find more hope for yourself. Please also read each of these verses in your own Bible so that you may gain context for why they exist and have power in your life. There is power in the Word of God over all things, including this battle for a right heart during the holidays.
