A few weeks ago I shared A Tour Through my Summer Garden, but my sunflowers had yet to bloom at the time. I photographed the budding heads, but it would still be some weeks before their opening. Now is the time! My garden is simply glowing from the radiant yellow heads popped here, there, and everywhere!
This lovely portion of the garden needed its due appreciation and a spot in my journal, so let’s spend some time admiring these happy friends!
Come and take a quiet evening stroll through my happy patch of sunflowers. I hope that they bring you an abundance of joy! Sometimes we need to simply slow down and admire the beauty that the Lord places all around us.
“Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”Luke 12:27
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.”Isaiah 40:8
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”Philippians 4:6-7
“Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.”Psalm 96:11-12
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”Psalm 19:1
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”Romans 1:20
