A Quick and Easy Crock Pot Cinnamon Applesauce Recipe

Notes:

  • This makes about 6 cups of applesauce.
  • The amount of sugar needed for this recipe depends on what variety of apple you use. For example, I prefer to use Galas for this recipe because they are naturally sweet and, therefore, do not require as much sugar. On the other hand, a crab apple is quite sour, so more sugar is needed if you want to tone down the tang.
  • There are so many different varieties of apples that’ll work just fine for applesauce. A lot of it depends on personal preference, so don’t think you can only use the specific varieties I reference in this post.

Needed Supplies:

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 pounds of apples (I recommend Gala apples, but any variety will do)
  • 1/4-1/2 cup of sugar (you can add more or less depending on preference)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 TBS Cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Wash, peel, and core the apples. I find an apple corer to make this tedious step much easier, but a sharp knife will work as well.
  2. Place apple slices in the Crockpot and add the remaining ingredients.
  3. Stir to combine.
  4. Cook on high for 3-4 hours, or until apples are very soft.
  5. Mash apples with a wooden spoon.
  6. After the sauce has cooled, store in a sealed container in the refrigerator, or can and store away for later. Enjoy!
